Orienteering – a quick description:
Orienteering will keep you both physically active and mentally stimulated.  The sport attracts participants aged 8 to 85 and events are held across the East Midlands on a regular basis.

At an orienteering event, you follow a map to find a series of checkpoints and use an electronic “dibber” to prove you’ve been to the correct checkpoint (hire of standard dibbers is free).

You can walk, jog or run at your own pace. No compass is necessary to start with, but it can add to the fun if you have one!

At the end of your course, you’ll get a printout that shows the time and order that each checkpoint was visited, so you can compare your experience with others.

NOC publishes a short newsletter every few months. It contains all the latest information about upcoming coaching opportunities and events. It’s available to everyone, not just club members. If you would like to receive future editions, please drop an email to Development@noc-uk.org and we’ll add your name to the mailing list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
